Yes, epoxy is generally too slow for a body shop. I can tell you that it will all but solve rock chip issues from re-occurring. Whether one wants to take the time to use is up to them.

Road debris. Sure like crap falling out of someone's truck. Or a piece of wood in the road. Yes. I know that because I just painted the owner of my shops truck after he hit some wood in the road 2 months ago.

Rock chips are normal wear and tear on paint

I would love to see proof. The owner of my shops wife just retired from state farm 2 months ago. And laughed at me when I just asked her a minute ago

Road debris like gravel that is part of the road salt mix. SF covered an all-over because of it.

Why? Were you following a rock and salt truck too close? That's the only way I could see them covering that. And even then, most of those companies, or the state, depending on who's doing it, will fight that.

Lets see, here in GA it snows once a year. They put the gravel/salt mixture down today and all the snow melts tomorrow. The roads are bone dry like nothing ever happened the only difference is the road is now covered in gravel for several days until the cars essentially blow it off the road. Back when this occurred I was driving 500 miles a week on the interstate and couldn't just take a week off until all the chit was off the roads.

Earlier this year the in-laws wanted to meet the wife 30 minutes away a day after it was forecasted to snow. I veto'd that in part because the in-laws had a new ride and with them keeping a car 10 years, would appreciate it not being screwed up seeing how they would be driving 2 hours to get to the meeting point.

I highly doubt they'd let you make a claim like that again. And I also highly doubt that anyone in this thread with 8-10 chips, would have the same luck.

To be honest, I don't care what you believe. I didn't sit here and make this up because I was bored. What others choose to with their insurance and what their insurance allows is their business. I was simply saying SF covered rock chips in my situation, an entire car's worth too. You were right on one thing though, SF covered my rock chipped windshield as well.

No, after your explanation, sure I believe you. I'm simply saying I doubt you'll get that service again. You were able to prove that the chips happened at 1 event. The people on here are taking day to day chips. 1 here and 1 there. I've never heard of getting rock chips covered by insurance for that reason. I live in MN/WI area. Our roads are like that 6-8 months a year. If all of state farms customers made a claim like yours every spring, premiums would go through the roof.

Go back a few posts where I posted pics of a Chevy Silverado bumper with tons of chips. One of those pictures you can see body filler on one side. That's all that was paid for. The chips I ended up repairing as a courtesy for that customer. The chips were not covered on that claim. Considered normal wear and tear on paint. To which, yes I did epoxy prime if you're wondering.

I'm not sitting here making any of this up either. I work with state farm daily.
