Paint Issues
We purchased a 2016 Black F150 Sport and love it - but within a week our paint was chipping in several locations - any insight or advice - this is a leisure weekend vehicle only for us so I was shocked when I went to wash it. We have a call into the dealership - who is contacting Ford on our behalf, but I thought I would see if I could receive some feedback here as well. Thank you!

Unless you have a great dealer, rock chips are not covered by warranty. Unfortunately rock chips are a fact of life. If you want to reduce them happening, you should look into a stone shield or clear bra.
I have only 120 miles on my F150. I have 4 chips in it already and even in placed where I shouldn't have chips. One on hood, one on each top rear quarter above the tail light and one on the inside of the passenger door. My last truck was an 08 F150 I had since 09 and put over 150,000 miles on it with no chips. I have OCD with my vehicles and this drives me nuts. If I have this may chips within 120 miles what is 10,000 miles going to look like?

I've had the exact same issue. Paint is chipping off in areas that haven't been hit by road debris. No dents, scuffs, or scratches. The paint simply falls right off. This, coupled with the atrocious filler compound in my roof rails, caused me to take it to my local dealer after 9 months of ownership from brand new. Ford agreed to repaint the roof but told me they refuse responsibility for everything else. I suspect the paint isn't bonding to the aluminum properly and they're denying all warranty claims to avoid opening the doors to a class action lawsuit. Less than a year after buying my truck brand new, it needs to be repainted on nearly all body panels. I spoke with my local CSM Frank, who was very polite and eager to assist, but in the end all he could tell me is the warranty department made their decision and it's not going to change.
The way Ford has brushed off my claim despite obvious signs of factory defects makes me question whether I will remain a Ford customer after 25 years of loyal ownership. The GM trucks at my office don't have half the paint issues I do and they get driven through abusive job sites and supply yards on a daily basis. Ford really dropped the ball on this one. I hope they get their act together - Given this recent experience I won't be considering Ford when it's time to buy the next truck. They sold me a defective product and told me to deal with it.

I bought OEM mud flaps/ stone guards after discovering rock chips on the side of my truck. I assumed, with the super tight air tunnel these trucks create, my front tires were tossing rocks at the side of mine.
I didn't want them, but am glad now.
