Sync 3 questions

Default Sync 3 questions

I have a few questions regarding the Sync 3 system that doesn't seem to be covered in any of the manuals.

Is the Sirius Link Applications US based only? I can't seem to get any local (Ontario, Canada) information.

How do I update Maps? The ones in the system are not up to date

2nd USB plug doesn't appear on screen. When I plug in a device, it charges, however isn't identified in the system. Do I need to activate it? Could it be defective?

Will Android Auto work with Sync 3? There seems to be altering opinions, however I can't seem to find a definite answer.

The apps should work, even in Cananada. There is only a handful of ones that work though. You'll have to connect the phone then open the apps on it and they should appear.

Pretty sure you have to go to the dealer to update the maps. They are usually only updated every 2 years, so you may have the most up to date one already.

Android Auto will work at some point. There is supposedly an update coming this year. But we'll see.

Not sure on that, would have to look in the book. Have you tried disconnecting both and trying them with data individually?

The Sirius Travel Link feature may be supported in your area, but you will need to contact the company directly to confirm that information at 1-888-539-7474. Navigation map updates will be provided by a third party company called HERE. They can be reached at 1-888-628-6277 and here: http://ford.navigation.com/

With the USB feature, what device are you using? Also, what year is your vehicle? Android Auto is available on the 2017 SYNC 3 systems, but the 2016 vehicles with SYNC 3 are still waiting for the software upgrade to use that option.

Any info on Apple Car Play? I have a 2016 F150 XLT with Nav.
