Default Options..........

Wife and I are going to set down this week with the dealership, and order a 2017 K/R.

What options do you have that you like, and what ones would you not order again?

We really do not want the painted bumpers, and would prefer chrome, as I can imagine what the bumper would look like down the road, with rock chips etc.,
and rust.

Thanx, for your time.

36 gallon tank is a must have. I agree with you on the bumpers!

All personal preference.

Check every box you think you need.

I would order the max tow. In 17 it includes a bunch of stuff that costs more to add them individually.

I know that you can get the clear covering made by 3-M, but have no idea what it would be like to install.

Here's my sticker. Sorry, I don't know why it's sideways. It's NOT on my PC.

I don't have and DON'T WANT; sunroof, engine auto stop, lane keeper/maintainer, (I don't know if they offer it)auto braking; tail gate hidden step

I don't have and NOT SURE if I should have gotten; adaptive cruise.

I don't have and WANT; bed side steps, two tone paint.

I have and DON'T WANT;bed spray>terrible! hurts to kneel on, damages my stuff,
Remote sensing system(99% false alarms),
FX4 suspension(sucks! it DOES come with plastic skid plates tho)

I have and LIKE; Leather,V8 Coyote, 4x4, 3.73 gears, 36 gal tank, BLIS is OK(functional. prolly WAY more useful if you run a cap), integrated trailer brake controller, wheel well liners

Mods I did and like;
ICON 2.5s all around - honestly, I don't know if I would have kept the truck without them.
Bed rug, Reverse lights,
Baja Designs XL80s mounted in fog pockets - Mega expensive, but KICK BUTT! They are brighter then the stock LED headlights, let alone fog lights.
BAK Revolver Tonneau - Great cover. Looks great, easy to use. Expensive.

I have the Chrome package - I like the look and my truck is "on road" 99% of the time, so it works for me i.e. 20" rims. If you're into the blackout look or off-roading, save your money.

36 gallon fuel tank is a must. If you ever plan on towing anything the tow mirrors are cheaper now than to add later. Same goes with the integrated trailer brake controller.... I like the tailgate step.

I dont know some people get so hung up on the whole "omg painted bumpers are going to self destruct in a couple years!" thing. It has plastic end caps, only the center section the width of the grill is exposed.

Its not like they just invented painted bumpers last year.

What trucks have the plastic end caps? My 2016 sport doesn't...just a chipped up pile of red painted steel with plastic caps towards the middle..

My 2015 sport definitely has plastic caps on each side. Steel is exposed in the center, same width as the grille.
