where is it leaking - do you see it weeping oil from further up the pan? Is it possible you damaged the pan where the plug fits. Did it leak more with the ronin plug or the new OEM plug? just curious as to the root cause of the leak.

Good luck with it.

The Ronin plug does not leak any worse than the original yellow Ford plug and may not leak at all, it's hard to tell. Maybe it's the plastic oil pan leaking. I should clean off the oil pan to make it easier to see where the leak is coming from. The leak is not enough to notice on the dipstick between 5,000 mile oil changes so I quit worrying about it. The oil plug design should be changed to have two oil rings instead of one. With the original yellow plug there was noticeable oil around the plug. I do wish I had an engine that stayed clean but that is not the case.

I don't like the idea of having a plastic oil pan, but I've got 40,000 miles on my early build 2017 3.5 and it hasn't leaked yet.

I have a 2019 F150 V6. I was taking it to a quick oil change place. I decided to start doing my own. I found that it was leaking, from where I am not sure. When I took out the oil plug it had pipe tape wrapped around it. I had purchased a replacement plug as suggested here and installed it last change and cleaned all around the pan and plug. It is really hard to check for leaks as it has the heat shield covering that part of the undercarriage. I will be doing a oil change this weekend and will see what it looks like. I believe my oil pan is plastic. I also understand that you cannot just drop the pan clean it, replace the gasket and be good to go. You have to replace the entire pan with a new one.

Please elaborate how is the plastic oil pan such a great idea? I understand that YOU haven't had any issues but how about the poor owners that are on their 3rd,4th or 5th plastic oil pan changed by Ford techs? " haters gotta hate"? Huh?? What else did you hurt when you fell outta the tree?
