Non navigation sync software update?
Hey everyone,
Google maps is an available feature when the Android Auto update is released at the end of the year. More details to come! Check your SYNC account periodically for more info: https://owner.ford.com/tools/account...p-to-date.html

I've been using the Android Auto feature on my Note 5, via USB cable, since I bought the truck a week ago. Bluetooth would be a nice option, but I would end up plugging it in to charge anyway, so its not really an issue. I do wish that I didn't have to switch back and forth all the time to change Sources for music, etc. But hey, I saved $1000+ by not getting the factory Navi and I like Google Maps better anyway, so beggars can't be choosers haha.
It's calendar year.
Hi RandyXLT,
I'm unable to provide any speculation. An announcement will be made once it's available.

I bought my truck at the end of July. At that time, Android Auto page at owner.ford.com said it would be released "this summer". I see that line has been removed from the page now. I don't even see where it says anything about "by the end of the year". Are you able to comment on why it hasn't been released yet, if it's already installed in '17s for months now?

Hi rozay,
You can use Android Auto by connecting to Bluetooth. Here's more info: https://owner.ford.com/how-tos/sync-...roid-auto.html
Scudzo,
What a difference one word makes, right? In this case, the wrong preposition was used. It's still expected to make its debut by the end of the year.

Hi jhicken,
The Apple equivalent to Android Auto is called CarPlay: https://owner.ford.com/how-tos/sync-...y-support.html An update for current SYNC 3 equipped vehicles will be available by the end of the year. A hardware upgrade is needed at the dealer as well. More details to come soon!
gwjohns82,
This update is only for vehicles equipped with SYNC 3.
Jonm1911 & rozay,
My apologies. Android Auto will only work using USB.
