No inside button for tailgate release??
No, the trucks were all older ones. The SUV's and cars did. The point was if Ford obviously has the capability to do the remote release, and has the truck set up for keyless entry and start (i.e. don't have to pull the key FOB) , just seems like it would be easy to add a hard or soft button inside the cab.
I get it under the circumstance outlined by OP but I don't get it otherwise.
I know we all have different uses but I can't think of a use where I am in the CAB and need the gate lowered by time I walk about there.
Curbside pickup would suggest owner doesn't need to exit the vehicle. It's not different than a passenger car an the trunk lid.
But no there is not a button.
I can see one of two things:
1) You purchased the vehicle within less days than your last shopping trip and just learned of the inefficiency of your vehicle
2) This was the first trip to the store in the 3 years of ownership and you now realize you don't have a self-eject button for the gate.
Think of it in a positive sense...Imagine if you were nice and cozy waiting for curbside with the gate down then had to get out to close the gate. Without the automatic release you don't have to have the surprise of learning you have to raise the gate. Win win!
You might have to trade in your 'new to you truck' for a 2021. The 2021 might have power open/close gate functions. Ford would probably sell a lot of them if they added a comment in the brochure
"New for 2021 in a properly equipped F150 - a COVID-19 ready tailgate with automatic release and power close functionality".

So you've had 7 trucks and non had a tailgate release inside the cab.
And this one is supposed to be different, why?
Maybe it would be easy to add, but it would still be 'more' and would take more materials and cost more and be more things to go wrong, so there is still a decision on "is it worth it?". I have yet to encounter a situation in which I would have used a cab drop for the tailgate, myself. I'm also picky about my truck and don't want some knucklehead curbside pickup employee scratching my tailgate paint while trying to close it.
There is also the risk of accidentally dropping the tailgate from the cab with stuff in there, or somebody walking or biking or driving by and they hit the tailgate. So, consider that as well
I guess I figure anybody who can close the tailgate, can certainly open it as well, and if I want I can hit the button on the FOB to lower it.
The one thing I would like to have is a completely hands free release, stand behind it with key in pocket, kick under it the correct way, and it lowers...that would be nice for when my hands are full of crap I don't want to set down (like, bags of dog food and the ground is wet for example)

The 21s have a button in the cab not sure if it is standard on any trim levels. I honestly never thought about having a button in the cab for it until I was test driving a 21. As soon as I noticed it I was like well that makes perfect sense.
Thats great---And its powered shut too, love that feature haha!!!!
