Default Mounting a small safe inside console

I want to add this small safe inside the center console of my '16 KR to secure items as needed. I want to be able to secure it with screws to (and through) the bottom of my console but I don't know what I might damage if I do so. Does anyone know exactly what is directly underneath the flat portion of the center console (storage compartment)?

Made by Snap Safe.

I had considered that but it would be more of a nuisance than it's worth and take up the entire console. What I want to secure is small.

I have that same exact style in my 07. Mine has a 3 number dial and not lock as I didnt want to stick keys in there all the time and scratch it all up. Fits my 9mm M&P Shield and a extra mag perfectly. I was able to reuse 2 existing mounting bolts and added a 3rd bolt. Its super secure.

That is the exact safe I got. Ran the cable through my seat mounts, no problem and it's hard to see.

I secured a small biometric safe into the bottom of my console and secured it with screws, did not have any issues. No keys or combos to worry about. I seem to recall a wiring diagram in a prior post that showed the electrical that runs under the console is along one of the sides. I avoided the sides when securing.

Here's the setup I did if you want to see it. I wouldn't call it "theft proof" but so far, it has met my needs. A guy I work with suggest I could add a false floor to conceal it even further but I never got around to it. Good luck.

Interested in how you end up mounting this.

There's a slot on the edge. Place the cable in the slot and close the cover.
