My dealer removed them when they did the tsb for the frozen door latch. So you definitely don’t need them.

Leave them out, helps your door breath easier to reduce the chance of freezing door locks. If you live where there are freezing temperatures that is.

Do not replace!
It keeps the water from draining when the plug is in.

I have a toolbox full of them! I should sell them on Ebay. On a serious note, do not replace them, and take the others out if they are in there. The door latch recall has us remove them and throw them in the trash.

I don't have a plug in that location, just the drain hole.

Default Door plug use .

The door plug is to help keep dust/ contaminants out of the door's interior. Over time the road dust enters the open slot in door and mixes with water that enters through the window, Result is mud that clogged the two drain passages at both lower ends of the door panel. Water was up to the uncovered door slot (2.5 inches) . Suggest all door plugs be in place and the two drain passages in the door be cleaned regularly with a pipe cleaner. This may also help with door rust due the road salt. .
Ford F-150 ,2015,. purchased used. Rain here is normally 5-15 inches a year (semi dry). Keeping the door drain passages clear seems to help with water in door space. Not mentioned in the manual.
