Default Mirror Question

Hopefully someone who has already got their truck can answer this. Does the interior rear view mirror have the electrical plug in the back side of it? I want to hardwire my V1 and need to know if I should order one of the kits that use the power & ground connections on the mirror, or if I will need to tap into the power for the controls near the map lights etc. Thanks.

Countrysquire, is that a source of power for a radar detector? I might be picking my truck up today and I can find out for you.

Yes, for the radar detector. I like how you slipped in that you might be picking up your truck today! Good luck.

I am glad you brought up the topic because I just received my new Escort Radar detector and I was planning on have Mobile One Auto Sound run a dedicated power line to the unit. If it has that connector I will let you know.
I won't believe the truck is there until I can put my hand on it.....Thanks

Mine does, but I have a camera and auto dimming mirror. It probably depends on your option package, but I think all of the upper level models have the auto dimming mirrors and should have power.

That's interesting, could you post a pic? I guess it makes it easier to mount a dash camera?

Thanks, mine's a platinum so it should be equipped the same. I like the idea of tapping in to the power at the mirror instead of having to tear in to the panel on the headliner.

Do you have the SAVVY part? It's awesome and you can then use a phone cord to run from the V1 to it. The plug outlet is under your steering wheel.

I typically build my own cable and run it out of the front of the headliner.
