There are WAY too many deals for the 2016's to not buy new! Most of the time, I see used 2015's selling for only a few thousand less than a brand new 2016, sometimes more! And from what I've heard, you never want to buy the first year of a complete re-design. Let them work out the majority of the problems in a year or two. So definitely buy 2016 or wait a few months and buy a 2017, though you won't get a deal on a 2017 like you can a 2016 now for quite a while.

Thanks everyone, this has given me to much to think about! jk. But it really has been help, I will be the first to admit I am not that good negotiating, basically I have a price in mind that is reasonable I make my offer, if the dealership doesn't like. I pack up and walk out, onto the next. I do really like the Platinums, had 2014 but someone wanted it way more than I did at the time so I sold it and totally regretting it.

What I noticed lately around here is that not many dealers are willing to play ball and negotiate on new trucks. Outside their rebates, don't expect to get much more than a couple $100 off their asking price unless you can find similar trucks elsewhere that are cheaper than what they have on their lot.

In Houston standard dealer discount off msrp is $5-6k. I got mine for invoice - holdback, plus spray in bed liner thrown in. I'm sure I could have got a little more, but was happy with the offer.

I should have specified, they are asking below MSRP here, but the price they list on their website and on the lot is generally their "rock bottom" price.

I keep reading all these posts here where people are getting killer deals and it makes me envious!

The MSRP on my truck was a hair over $39k. With tax/title and opting for the extended warranty & GAP coverage I drove off the lot for I believe $38,200.

That's not too bad. TT&L is normally $2000, plus say $2500 for the warranty and $500 for GAP, so $5000 there. Assuming you put $0 down, that means you paid roughly $33000 for the truck, which would be $6k off MSRP. Not too shabby. Could you have gotten a better deal? Probably. But if you found the truck you wanted, with good customer service from the dealer, why not pull the trigger? As long as you're happy that's all that matters.

My truck stickered for $51,215, purchase price was $40,468 (including discount and rebates) and driveout was $43,433.
