MAC Address?
If you want to go digging you can go into the diagnostics screens of Sync - do it at your own risk - Go to an FM station, then hold CD Eject button and Seek Up button at the same time - several menus there - might dig far enough to expose the Mac address somewhere. I'm not convinced that there isn't a way somewhere to show or expose the Mac address, but Ford is making it very hard to do so.
In SYNC 3 … if one goes to Bezel Diagnostics, then selects APIM Diagnostics, then selects Software Versions, the Bluetooth version and Bluetooth MAC address are there, but only WiFi version and no WiFi MAC address … go figure!
I guess it's missing in FORD diagnostic screens, and that is the reason why FORD 50 CENT ARMY (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/50_Cent_Party) went silent on this in this topic. Perhaps in SYNC 4 ?!?
If you want to see technology in a car and security at play go find the Tesla hacking threads - they are on top of it. The Tesla's have so much going on in them and so much "required" connectivity back to the mother ship and security it is almost scary. Now that can be taken to the other extreme as well because it's all but impossible to do any hacking to your own car - it is way locked down and controlled.
BTW, according to Bezel Diagnostic screens I have a few options that are not installed, and I am missing some options that are installed on my FORD, and my EcoBoost 3.5 apparently runs on diesel … go figure!

DITTO ...
@FORD TEAM ... PLEASE STOP ASKING UNRELATED OR PERHAPS DIVERTING QUESTIONS AND GET THE ANSWER TO THE WELL REHASHED QUESTION:
WHERE/HOW A USER CAN FIND WIFI MAC ID NUMBER IN THE FORD WIFI EQUIPPED VEHICLE?
I am in similar situation as OP and other posters ... I need to connect my SYNC3 to ISP network of hotspots and to my homenet . Both are protected by ACL (access control list) measures, and require device MAC ID to be entered into the ACL before access is granted (memo to FORD TEAM, that is the technical reason ... no need to ask any more supporting/deflecting questions).
I know I can use wifi scanner, or get the unprotected router, or some other unorthodox measures to get the SYNC3 MAC ID. But this should not be that difficult ... every other WiFi enabled device has its MAC ID clearly displayed somewhere. It is a part of WiFi standard.

I played with the WiFi settings in the truck and it seems like an incomplete system. I do my updates with a USB stick. And having the truck act as a hotspot so that people can get to the internet through your truck, which goes through your phone is kinda redundant since you can just make your phone a hotspot and leave out that extra step of going though the truck.
It would be like hooking up a WiFi router to your ISP-installed router, which also has WiFi. What's the point here? (Not counting making your own local LAN and setting your own policies and security settings etc because you can't do that with the truck)

With the truck on your home Wifi, you should be able to go into the Admin page of your router and see all the attached MAC Addresses to your Wifi. One of them will be the MAC address of the truck. Turn the truck off and refresh and see which one falls off the list.
I'm missing something here - my truck connects to my wifi and all I needed to do was to put in my password.
If a MAC address is easily discoverable, how does it add to security when you still need to add your password?
The only reason you are connecting the truck to your wifi is to download possible upgrades to your Sync system, which are probably few and far between...
There is no excuse to be rude to the Ford guys, they should get the same respect you should show to any member of this forum.

That said, if the OP is trying to connect to a home system, just turn off MAC address filtering briefly (on the home router), connect the truck to the home system, and then you can record the truck's MAC address from the router connections page.
Still, like others, I don't see the point since there is nothing that the truck can do by having a WiFi connection to your home system. I think even the vehicle health reports MUST go through your cell phone, correct?
Speaking of missing features- I wish the Nav would allow the import of .GPX files so that I could create routes/waypoints/layovers on my home computer and then load them into the truck. This is basic GPS functionality, but the Ford/Microsoft engineers didn't bother to study how these systems could best be used by the owners. Frustrating. OT, I know, sorry...
Very frustrating, my town is largely missing/blank places on the nav screen. My Google maps has all the detail but not the Ford database. You'd think there would be a way to update the database for the area where the trucks are sold? Also, when driving, when trying to get the voice commands to find a destination, it asks you to chose from a list!? While driving? I'm really happy with that feature. Hurry up and update the Sync so I can at least use the nav program on my 6S.
Exactly, and you will also be able to do updates via a USB thumb drive. I don't know why so many people get hung up on having the WiFi working. It's not buying you much of anything right now. Maybe Ford has some grand plan for the future, but right now they can't even get a 2.0 update pushed out....
