MAC Address?
Hey,
This is my 2nd post, I've been a lurker since 2012.
Looking for the MAC ID for the wifi system, I live in British Columbia and with my internet provider they have tons of hotspots around where I live.
The only way I can register for it, is by entering the MAC id into their system. Then it can connect automatically.
THX!

Let it connect to your home wifi.. then look in your wifi gateway status/log screen for the MAC address of the connected device. Should be there.
Only thing I know of that connects to wifi in F150 is Sync for updates... is there something else I don't know about?

Spork82 it's not really wifi your just sharing your phone data over Bluetooth via your radio.

there actually is a MAC address. If you upgrade Sync via USB drive, it dumps an XML file onto the drive upon completion of the upgrade which contains the mac address along with other data. This is the XML file you're supposed to upload to owner.ford.com after upgrading to confirm it worked and so it can keep track of what version you are on for future upgrades

A new feature with Sync 3 is that the vehicle, if parked in range of a WiFi network, connects to it for updates. So if your home network has WiFi and reaches where the vehicle is parked, it will update itself (yea, more car battery potential problems).
In addition, Sync can be a gateway IF your connected phone has data. All devices in the vehicle that connect to Sync via WiFi would use the data off your connected phone.
