I have never put a leveling kit on my truck before because i pull my bass boat all over the place. Anyone have experience with squatting and trailering with level kit? ideas, thoughts and thanks

The concept is pretty simple but the process will require some thought and be peculiar to your own truck.

Raise the front just shy of the rear ride height, leaving a little rake. Tweak the tongue weight of the boat and trailer to a minimum.

Then be ready to augment, if necessary, the rear ride height/rear spring rate when towing by, generally, either:

1. Any reputable supplemental air bag system (Air Lift, etc)

2. Roadmaster Active Suspension - activesuspension.com

you are going to get the same squat in the rear without and with a leveling kit, so the question is: do you care if you have a reverse rake with the boat on? if yes, then either leave it along, level it just enough so that its level WITH the trailer connected or install some airbags on the rear to re-level the truck when trailering. I did the third and installed the 2000lb capacity air lift kit. My truck is dead level with no trailer and now I just pump it up to 40psi or so when I hitch up my boat to level it or about 70psi with my camper hitched. I think that this is the best of both worlds since it also stiffens up the rear suspension when towing.

Awesome set up. Did you have to run a spacer up front to clear the UCA?

I didn't. They are super close though.

Default Help With Finalizing Level/Rim/Tire Setup Before Order!!

Hey Guys!! So I have been searching for awhile now and think I finally have a setup that should work with my "new to me" truck I'm getting! Just want to get any opinions on if I'm correct that it will give me a close to stock ride (or better!) with no trimming/scrubbing needed! Thanks in advance!

- 2015 F150 XLT Supercrew (27k miles!!)

Level: 2" Rough Country Loaded Struts, N3 Shocks (0"-3") in Rear
Rims: 20x9, +20mm, Fuel Hostage D625
Tires: 285/60/20 (33.7"x11.2") Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLTs

I have Bilstein 5100 with stock shocks, similar Fuel Wheels and 295/50-20 Nitto tires, so my setup is similar but not the same. The big shift on my truck was going from P-rated tires to E-load range tires. You will notice the stiffer ride and higher unsprung weight, no two ways about it. I like the stiffer ride vs. the original ride because I came from Toyota trucks that have a much stiffer ride and so the F150 felt pretty mushy to me.

Default 2015 2” Level 35x12.50r17 -12mm

I’ve run 35’s on 17 -12mm with a 2” level for 4 years. You need to trim correctly and won’t have rubbing issues. Only rubs when reversing right if you have passengers in the truck. Goes away after the tires wear a bit. I do want to upgrade to a 3” suspension kit for smoother off-road handling.
