Open the moonroof - tape goes on the front edge of the rear glass panel, where it will touch the front panel when it's closed.

I have done both the teflon tape and neoprene tape. Also, the TSB was done twice. The knock is still there and does not appear to be going anywhere any time soon. I would like to keep this truck but this may drive me nuts enough to trade it.

ok. So on top of the rear glass ? Why people are saying that I need to loosen the brackets (T25 bolts). Do I need to do some taping there too ?

No. The bracket loosening is for were they rubbed against the roof causing creaking/ noises and members used neoprene stuffed between the brackets and roof to stop the noise (creaking).

Just be sure if you loosen brackets to make sure the stationary glass is flush with roof when finished.

May have toasted my sunroof yesterday. Got the typical rattle, usually I can flip up then open/close & it goes away.
Auto-shut kept bouncing back, so I held the button to close & got some awful crunching noises...

Time to finally make an appt. Don't think my dealer does loaners, will have to ping my salesman & see if he can put me in an '18 for a day or two.

I have a 2015 with 27000 miles on it. I have the same noise and am afraid to take it in for experimentation. The sound is annoying, but I worry what unexpected consequences may result from the tinkering.

So I just wanted to clear this up to help anyone in the future. There are 2 different noises and 2 different fixes. The first is the chatter / rattle and that is fixed by the neoprene foam tape wedged between the 6 mounting tabs. The second is a hollow clunk or noise that comes from the junction of where the front panel meets the rear. I am going to fix it this Friday but that is what the slick tape or some type of silicone grease should fix. Hope that helps people from doing tomwrong fix for wrong noise

I've been playing with my moonroof constantly, trying to figure out where it is coming from. I finally looked at it from the roof and saw that the front left corner was sitting a little lower than the front right corner. I loosened all three of the torx screws and adjusted the glass. So far, the knocking has gone away. We'll see if it leaks now.....

Never did update this.
They ended up replacing both tracks. So far, no rattles to be heard.

Picked it up & it was giving a loud pop every time it lowered the glass to slide back.
Waiting on backordered parts for them to replace the guides now.

Ended up in an '18 STX for a loaner for a day while they diag'd the new issue, since they had the truck for almost a week & it still wasn't right.
