Default Keyless Pad....

...is there an easy way to reset the pass numbers? I have the code, but it doesn't seem to work?...Looking at the pad, it has two numbers on each touch key, so is there a way to clear the pad and renew my code?I've read the book but, I must be doing something wrong...(help)

The only way I'm aware of is go back to factory code, then reset to custom.

Erasing a Personal Code
  • Enter the factory-set 5-digit code.
  • Press and release 1•2 on the keypad within five seconds.
  • Press and hold 1•2 for two seconds. You must do this within five seconds of completing Step 2.
  • All personal codes are now erased and only the factory-set 5-digit code will work.
Personal Entry Codes

Programming a Personal Entry Code

To create your own personal entry code:
  • Enter the factory-set code.
  • Press 1•2 on the keypad within five seconds.
  • Enter your personal 5-digit code. You must enter each number within five seconds of each other.
  • Press 1•2 on the keypad to save personal code 1.
  • The doors will lock and unlock to confirm that you have successfully programmed a personal entry code.

I got keys from the dealer with a little paper piece attached with a barcode and a 5-digit number which I assumed was the keypad code. It doesn't work, however, and if I try to add/change a code from MFT screen it first asks for the default factory code and it doesn't work there either.

is there somewhere else I should be looking for this damn code or do I need to take this back to the dealer

my code was in the glove compartment on a plastic card similar to a credit card...maybe its with your manual and ford books.

Mine was tucked in a pocket in the manual cover. I looked all over for it at first until I found it there.

thanks, but didn't find it. Now I'm slightly worried someone who might have test drove the truck before I drove it off the lot sneaked off with it. Small town = easier to find the truck later and get in and steal things

If you have the factory default code for your vehicle you can also change/add personal codes through the Sync, My Ford Touch (if your truck has that option). On the main screen, tap the "Settings" quadrant (bottom right pane). Tap "Vehicle" and then tap the selection for the security code. You'll need to input the factory code in order to make changes but this way is fairly quick and easy.

The piece of paper attached to the keys with the 5-digit number is your key code, not your keypad code.

The key code is the number your dealership will use to make you a new key if you were to lose the ones you have.

The keypad code is found on a credit card like piece of plastic that is usually found in the center console, in the glove box, attached to your keys, or with the owner's manual. If you can't find it then I would call the dealership and check your options...it should have been part of the delivery checkout process.

My truck was a demo and the people who had been driving the truck for the first 2300 miles lost the card that should have been in the glove box. They had to use the Ford IDS system to get the factory codes. Even when they accessed the factory codes using IDS it's answer was one of these codes is the factory code and then displayed 2 5 digit numbers.
