I don't think I did too bad on the deal, especially considering this was purchased from another dealer in MD so my dealership here in VA got no holdback. See below for the details:

Vehicle price - $47,895
Destination - $1,295
Processing Fee - $599
Tax - $1,931.37
Filing fee, business license tax, tags/title(all BS) - $133.27
Total - $51,853.64
Minus rebates of $3,250 took me to $48,603.64 OTD

I went ahead and jumped on it, as there were only three trucks within 150 miles of me that were exactly what I wanted, and I already missed out on two. This was literally the only truck with the exact color I wanted and all the options I wanted, and none of what I didn't want.
Congratulation on your new truck and on achieving reasonable OTD/MSRP ratio. Which in your case is 0.88
And you have a truck of color you wanted, with options you wanted, and nothing you don’t want in this truck. My case is different so far. I am willing to be flexible with color and options. All I want Lariat with similar OTD/MSRP ratio. So far I wasn’t even able to make OTD=MSRP.

Unless you have a special incentive like Military, First Responder or College grad or Grad student they made a mistake on the Rebate Incentives for your Zip Code. This Truck is an XL Trim, so you're only supposed to get $3,800 for your total incentives WITHOUT Ford Credit Bonus Customer Cash. If you look at your offer they have $4,300 ($500 extra).

If they made a mistake on the rebates, I think they applied the ones for the XLT Trim, then you don't say a thing to them - just go straight to the Showroom unannounced. Print this quote and do a neat strikeout on angle through their OTD so it can still be read. Then below it right Counteroffer and write in $39,000 and sign the bottom. Tell them we have a deal if you come down $80 to my counteroffer. It will still need signature approval from the Sales Manager at the bottom, but hopefully your asking for $80 less than their OTD number draws attention away from the Rebate mistake. Without knowing what the Doc/Processing Fee is mixed in with Title & Lic Fees, then you'll walk away with an 11.7% deal the way it stands right now. If they catch the error and want to change it back to what it should be - tell them the deal is off because you got a nice backup deal at another Dealership and walk out. Come back here to let us know what happens and we'll wait to see if they call you to come back in.
I'm assuming you meant counter offer with $34,000 not $39,000 correct?

Ooops - Sorry!

You're correct $34,000. Must have been the late hour syndrome! Numbers suck when your not on a fresh head.

Can you please confirm they made a mistake or were you eligible for any of the additional $500 rebate offers because that changes my assumption and the game.

I have not checked with them yet. I am trying to get a competing dealer to give me a price on a similar truck at the moment but I do qualify for the college grad rebate

You need to shop outside of NJ. I got the same treatment with 4 different NJ Dealers. They were all between 5-7% and no more. It's a known fact that NJ & CA are two of the worst States to do business in. Their taxes and fees from State to local levels increase the cost of doing business greatly. This cost gets passed on to you in the way of less price negotiation power. Plain & Simple!

If you want get something substantial in savings then you'll have to travel. If you don't - just pull down your knickers - bend over - and walk into the showroom backwards.

So that may be why they have a $4,300 Rebate. Do you remember telling them that you were a College grad when they were preparing that quote? If so, throw everything I told you about going in there and settling the deal at $34,000. You'd have to get them lower to $33,500

This Forum is amazing! I love that this thread is 300+ pages long!! Awesome collection of information to help people.

I am looking to buy a new 2017 F150 as the lease on my current one will be up at the end of the year. I live in WNY (14141) and have been looking at the following truck. (I hope the attachment works)

At this point I am at 45560 before rebates which from what I have been reading here probably isn't good enough right?

You've come to the right place. I just posted the number for the truck I just got this past Friday and all these guys helped me with it. I'm sure people will be chiming in shortly.

I hope you read those pages that you mention!

If that's a 'Selling Price' quote from the Dealer - you're right - it SUCKS! It's your basic sucker deal at 4.7%.

Now, let's start from the beginning. I got your 'Window Sticker' OK - so let's try this.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We can't help you, if you don't help us!

Some or all of the information below is missing.

Review what you provided to see what information is missing from the list below. If you don't have certain info or documents listed here then be sure to tell us that too! It's best to copy/paste the following list into your 'Reply' and answer after each line item. Blue text would be helpful.

There is also a document requirement to have your deal reviewed accurately. You need to provide images or links to the Window Sticker or Dealer website listing for your truck. If you already have a quote, posting the quote sheet is better than you trying to type numbers out of order which may make no sense. You should ALWAYS request a Dealer provide a quote in a .pdf format document so you have proof of your pending numbers.

YOUR Zip Code (where the truck will be registered)
Did you go to the Dealer and deal directly with a Salesperson yet?
Are you planning to use the Ford Conditional Offer - $1,250 Ford Credit Customer Cash if available to you?
Are you planning to trade-in?
Do you qualify for any additional incentives like Military, First Responder, College Graduate or Grad Student, etc.,?
Doc/Processing Fee - Dealer charge (You need to find this out and provide it one way or another)

Documents:

Window Sticker (a must) We're good here
Truck listing link on Dealer's website (not important if you gave a Window Sticker and don't want others to know where it is)
Price Quote Sheet (very helpful for us to see facts)(print - whiteout Dealer/Your Info - take picture and post image)
