Just tell us your under invoice price paid.

I got 28% off the "blue box" price on a 2019 XLT... but I had a trade to work into the deal. They gave me almost the private party sale KBB value for the trade.... did pretty good.
Looking to buy my 1st F150
So I'm new to this forum and became a member because of the unbelievable amount of information in the "Just tell us your under invoice price paid" thread. I thought I was confident in my research and tactics until I started to read this thread. I was 24 hours away from going to a dealership and discussing numbers, then discovered this forum, and have instead not gone to the dealership; but instead spent the last 4 days reading as much information within this thread dating back to 2015. However I feel that I have hit a road block and would like to reach our to everyone who is willing to help get my plan back on track!
I am looking to buy my 1st F150 and have found the model in which I like. There are currently 10 of them within a 100 mile radius of me .
Background info: F150 XL - 5.0L V8 - 4x4 - SuperCrew - 101a Package
Location: Phoenix, AZ (85014 dealer zip code)
MSRP (Blue Box): $46,590
Destination & Delivery: - $1,595
________________________________
= $44,995
Dealer Discount (13.3%) - $6,000
________________________________
Dealer Price = $38,995 (Not including TTL & $499 Doc Fee ***lol)
Doc Fee + $499
________________________________
Total Dealer Cost = $ 39,494
Not including rebates yet.... (I want to get the Total Dealer cost squared away 1st
Questions:
How do I begin the conversion?
I see email/online is preferred within this thread, but would like a few pointers on how to effectively start the conversation as well as best practice to continue the conversation.
What is the best tactic to talk down the "Dealer Discount" %?
What info/items would be best to talk down the discount (ie. the itemized list of items on the window sticker)? And when to bring up this info/items?
Is it smart to Finance through Ford and then re-fi with your credit union?
I am planing on financing through Ford to get the MOST rebates available. Then I am planning to re-finance to a lower rate with Navy Federal (currently at 2.29% for 72).
When is the best time to tell them I have a trade in?
I have an 2008 Nisan Frontier with 200,000 on it, so I know I won't get much.
Thank you to everyone in advance! Looking forward to become a part of the F150 family!
***PS! would anyone be able to Private Message me to PNA! I would love to throw in my own numbers and do some of the work on my own (LOL)

Cast your net far . Different states..check out states that you have relatives .States that have the lowest bottom line prices .
Make the email straight to the point .Never ever tell the dealiar what you aren willing to pay.
Times are hard they have to sell a truck more than you have to buy .
In regards to that trade . At 200k sell it privately for a work truck . If its going to be included in the trade mention it after the price of the car is set in black and white .
remember the dealer juggles 3 *****

Play hard ball and be prepared to walk away. There are lots of trucks out there.
I just got an e-mail and a PCO for $3K. Expires in July
Top, have you ever seen Ford send out a $3k PCO for the NYC area? Sales must be hurting, Tempted to see what I can get for my 2018.

Anyone who gets one of these better be cloaked because you KNOW that Dealiars are going to be looking you up on SMART VINCENT and down goes the Dealiar Discount.
Funny you posted this because I got one sent to my email address at 2:04 pm as well with a 7-6-20 Expiration Date. Yeah, I guess NYC region has got hit real bad and with the sky high real estate and cost of living, I guess Ford is ACTUALLY 'Lending a Hand' now. Too bad these PCO's are person specific and can't be transferred so mine will go to waste. You would think I should be able to gift it to someone.

I just received a $3K PCO for the F150 in MN as well. Hence, this doesn't appear to be concentrated on just NY. For giggles, I called Ford Customer Care and I also have a $750 PCO for the Explorer and Edge. Ford must be trying to entice us to update our 2018 Edge as well.

Hi Top. Long time no talk ;-). I still browse this thread periodically to be prepared the next time I'm ready to start looking at new trucks.

Your input is great so others can put the brakes on hold in case they haven't received this awesome $3K PCO. Yeah it looks like Ford is on a Rampage, especially you, to part with some money.
Guys, all of you greenhorns better read up on cloaking!!!

I feel like I missed the cloaking part of this thread. I still haven't gotten a PCO. Should I NOT call in to try and get it? I'm within a couple months of getting into something new. If I cant the deal I wan't I'm honestly thinking of something used with really low miles. I've got your spreadsheet but I'm in Cali and they're notorious for not giving a **** here. Maybe Corona has these guys getting desperate, but Ford doesn't look too desperate to me. What would be typical depreciation on a 19' right now sitting on the lot (no offers whatsoever)? Looks like 10-11% on KBB. Add the offers into that, BARE minimum.

CA is always a LOSE-LOSE situation when it comes to buying vehicles. I moved to Redondo Beach back in '81 and lived there almost 3 years before I woke up and got the hell outta' there. One of my best decisions!
Yeah, you just have to keep diggin' around and see who gives you the best of the worst deals. The 2019's aren't attractive anymore unless you're going to drive it into the ground.
Good luck!
