Default HID Conversion nightmare!!!

I installed the plug and play hid kit like I have done in all my other vehicles but the weirdest thing happens. When the truck is off or if I just turn over the key to 12 volt but don't turn on the motor the HEADLIGHT HID's turn on, the FOGLIGHTS HID turn on, and the LED SWITCHBACK PARKING LIGHTBULB turns on.

However, when I turn the key all the way on and the motor turns on all the front lights shut off completely. The headlights, foglights, and the led parking lights turn off.

When I turn the motor off the lights all turn back on... I've never ever had this issue. Checked the volts and it's 13v with motor off and with motor on.

Anybody else have this issue? If so, what was the solution? Maybe a wired relay harness?

Thank Y'all

You're running HID's with no relay harness? That's a major no no. To install HID's correctly, run a dedicated, fused line from the battery to the relay and only use factory headlight wiring for relay signal.

Or are you thinking you ran the relay wires incorrectly? You may need capacitors or resistors to smooth the signal.

+1
run a $5 relay harness from ebay and you won't have any problems. been doing it for 8 years on all makes and models.

Ok thank you for clearing that up. I figured I needed the complete relay harness kit. I just had it plug and play to OEM connectors. This is the only vehicle that has ever given me this issue. I will redo it tomorrow with the correct wires/relays.

These lights are extremely bright and have a great cutoff with factory halogen housing. I really want to get them working soon.

HID's pull way more current at startup than halogen bulbs. Even if you can bypass the sensors telling the truck to kill the lights, you're at high risk of melting the circuit or causing an electrical fire. Always, always, always use a relay and dedicated power line for HID's. Even if it seems to work without a relay, do it anyway.

Makes sense, but what about the LED bulbs? They are the front parking/signals switchback white/Amber LED bulbs. Exact same issue. With truck engine off they turn on, with truck engine on they turn off. Read the current and it's 13v with engine on and off.

make sure to adjust the lights down, you're blinding alot of people w/ the dispersed lights

and i really don't see a cut off in your pic.
