Default HID Conversion

With the current high cost of converting to the OEM LED headlights I was considering to get my regular headlights retrofitted with HID projectors and bulbs. I looked all over the place but couldn't find a company that offers those services and was wondering if anybody knows of a reputable company doing it.

I am not looking for just switching bulbs or buying Recons and then stick some cheap HID bulbs in there. I was thinking maybe Morimoto or Lexus projectors......quality stuff. When I had my 2012 F-150 I converted to OEM HIDs and was very satisfied with the light output, although I have no idea how they stack up against the 2015/16 OEM LED headlights.

I looked on their site, all they show is 09-14 conversions. I did see some pictures though. I like the way the white F-150 looks.

Contact Raptor Retrofit directly to discuss - that link was to a couple pictures showing '15 HID retrofits they have done.

There are companies online and instagram and stuff that do them. I had a shop in NC do mine, and a few other members here have used them. check out theretrofitsource.com for prices on kits. I have quad HID's and did them for a little less than the LED conversion.
https://www.facebook.com/DefiantCustomRides/ this is the place I used, Bryan is the owner.

https://www.facebook.com/SoutheastCAL/ These guys do a lot of stuff too.

You can get lights done, then send your current pair in and get a credit towards the new ones at a lot of places, some places don't offer that. On the retrofit source you can also search for their recommended installers near by if you live in a more populated area.

The look of 15+ LEDs are great. I went with a 501A because I wanted the 2.7 and the trucks are expensive enough in that trim. I debated replacing my halogens with the stock LEDs, but the performance doesn't look that great to me. It reminds of when HIDs came out and some cars like the 2002 Maxima and 2003+ Altimas had reflector based HIDs. Yeah they looked cool, but output was terrible. The stock LEDs have serious hot spots and weird beam pattern due to the facet design. See below for output shots:

I've done retrofits in the past with a 2000 Mazda Millenia and FX4 bi-xenon projectors. It was a PITA. Now it seems the aftermarket makes it a lot easier, but I don't have the time to tinker with a retrofit any longer. I ended up going with the Anzo's and will put D2S HIDs with a H7 adapter ring in the low beam. I'm using 85122+ bulb with Infiniti D2S ballasts (can't recall brand, but OEM). It's not going to be ideal, but the output shots I've seen have had sharp cutoff with less hotspots than the OEM LEDs.
