There are too many of us have this issue for it not to be affecting a large number of these trucks.

It's obvious it doesn't matter what engine and cab you have for it is across the board. Also enough folks to include myself have felt it while in Tow Haul mod so that is not the issue either.

I started a poll, so if you are an effected owner please post in the poll so we can see what the numbers look like.

Thanks

Bob

I wonder if the issues with the hard shift is related to where they were build or plant...?

I think all the transmissions are built at one location.

Mine does the 5th to 4th clunk occasionally. 2.7, lariat 4x4 crew cab. I have less than 1000 miles and i have notices it probably 4 or 5 times. Have not towed any yet because I'm still in the break in period. Have not yet contacted my dealer.

If you guys have not posted in the poll on the clunking 5th to 4th gear, please do so for better number a accuracy. Ford does monitor this forum.

Ford might monitor the forums but that doesn't mean they will do anything. Ford is notorious for not doing anything when issues come up... Just say.

Mine does it occasionally... But when it does it's loud and harsh... BANG!!! Can't be good in the long run... Glad I'm not the only one... Over 6500 miles so far

After unhooking the battery I've only had a couple times when NOT pulling a trailer the 5th to 4th clunk. Coincidence? No idea. Pulling my boat it's done it a couple times per trip, but before the battery disconnect it was constantly clunking. So no idea if it really can change things, but there is a difference since I did it.

I'll second this. I brought this up with my servicing dealer (who are typically great) when we had our 2012 Focus in last week. The guy looked at me like I was making this up. He just said "bring it in when its due for an oil change and we'll look into it"

I know what that means. They'll have my truck all day, burn half a tank of gas joy-riding it all over the county just to have me come pick it up and say "we couldn't reproduce the issue"

Pisses me off..
