****ty deal. I was looking to get me a 2015 lariat, but I am thinking I am going to wait till Ford fixes this and the cooling seats issues.

I assure you it will happen again, and probably become more numerous as time goes on. Seems to be the trend with this issue.

I have been having this same issue for a while now. Here is a link to the thread I was documenting my struggle with the dealership and with Ford Customer Service in:

https://www.f150forum.com/f118/vibra...8/#post4207558

The last couple pages have some of the talking points I got from Ford and my dealership.

Seems like these trannies have issues, and no one wants to admit it. Who cares about fuel economy if you're stranded on the side of the highway.

2.7l 4x4 3.55 xlt. I had it do it twice on my 24 mile commute home from work today.

I too have had this happen and its starting to happening more frequently. Usually when slowing down and I touch the throttle a little, example, if i'm slowing down for a red light and it changes to green. I have a lariat, 2.7, 3.55 & 4wd. 6200 mile. There is no point taking it to the dealer yet since I can never replicate it intentionally.

Well guys, to everyone posting here, I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this problem. It sucks, but everyone is experiencing the exact same problem, which is a good thing (as bad as this problem is) because there is power in numbers. If a ton of us are seeing the same problem and symptoms, you'd think Ford would put out a TSB. Especially since it seems to not matter what engine, gears or trim. This is absolutely a transmission issue. The gear lights on the dash disappearing on the dash is one thing, but hitting the + button does make them come back on, although that still can't be normal. I wonder if its related?

What bothers me is Ford is going to continue to have 6 speed problems like this that will get swept under the rug because the dealer "can't recreate it" when you take it in.. That's so frustrating because I know it happens all the time, and even though this issue is sporadic, it's frequent enough that we're all not crazy! We know this is a problem!

It's a shame because besides this, I love my truck... They can't even get 6 speeds to behave correctly and they're going to a 10 speed in 2017?! Forget good mpg's..how about we focus on building a properly functional truck/transmission that will stand the test of time and THEN worry about good mpg's! Trucks are so damn expensive now, nobody will be able to afford one soon anyway. For the price the transmission should function properly and hold up

I have a 15 3.5eco and 3:31 axel. I don't have and hard shifts as I played with it today after reading this. Normal, tow, sport it seems to shift normal even with aggressive input. Coming from a Duramax with Allison I notice the shifts but no different then my 07 1/2 ton 4.8. My buddy has the same truck but heavy tow with 3:55 and he is experiencing the hard shift. I have 1400km and seems normal so far.

Does this transmission have adaptive shifts? A reset should restart the learning process. Afterwords, I'd suggest cycling through the gears using the -/+.
