Halogen headlights..Alternative
I did the easy headlight mod on my truck Saturday. I still have to check adjustment, but the light is much better than stock, and no other cars were flashing me. I stuck with H11 in low beam though, I used Phillips
X-tremevision, upgrade bulbs. Dan Stern didn't recommend using H9 in the stock housing, and I saw a test of H9 bulbs on another website, and they exceeded DOT glare specs.
The high beam bulbs were extremely difficult to get unlocked, and locked back in the housings. Anyone else find they were kind of stuck? The driver's side bulb nearly broke my fingers when it snapped loose!
Is there anyway to make them turn easier? I thought about putting some silicone grease on the o-ring, and plastic locking tabs. That job was a major pain in the neck.

What are your opinions on a decent halogen bulb. Not looking to go LED and just want a little brighter/better replacement for the stock bulbs. Looking to replace the low beam and fog bulbs. I think the high beams are fine, and don't use them much. Reviews online are either hit or miss for either sylvania or phillips. And I get that they both have a lineup with multiple options. I understand that a better performing bulb will not last as long as OEM. Just looking for some input.
I just did high and low in our 17edge with GTR ultras. Big improvement. Have done the silverstars prior with much disappointment. Same with cheaper LEDs.
Good led are not cheap but worth it in the end.
perfect cut offs and all.
best beam pattern and brightest led's ive ever seen are the headlight revolution supernova v4 led bulbs. I swapped out my housings with morimoto xb's which are nice... but not as bright as v4's. I put those led bulbs in my fog lights and its a game changer. As long as they are aimed properly, they don't glare and blind people...
Thanks for sharing this video!! About a year ago I bought an LED replacement bulb for one of my motorcycles in hopes of saving a few precious watts of output for other accessories. Indeed I preserved quite a bit of stator juice but the output from that cheap eBay LED bulb was less than a 2 year old’s birthday cake.
I tossed that LED in the trash as it rendered my scoot unridable after sunset. My failed experiment, along with this video, taught me the lesson that there is a HUGE difference between a $10 LED and a $100 LED. Now I just need to research what will fit in my motorcycle housing. (And shop for my truck of course.)

Here is a comparison of different Halogen upgrade bulb to LED and some other options, 100W Halogen VS LED Headlight Bulbs - which is brightest? Around 4:20 into the video they use a F150 reflector housing. KM
I have found what I had believed to be misconstrued. So in the interest of not passing on disinformation.........nevermind
