Mine starts up on the phone when it connects to the truck via Bluetooth. But I’m not aware of how you can have the phone functionality on the 8” Sync 3 touchscreen without having the phone plugged in via USB.

What phone do you have? Generally, the best cable to use for AA is the one that came with the phone, as it usually a good data ready cable. I had issues with a couple others that were resolved when I went back to the factory supplied cable.

I tried it here in the house, it is cool. I might get out to the truck today to see how this works.

Got a picture of your truck screen with it working? Are you getting google maps on your truck screen - if so I think you'd be the first to do it wirelessly.

Android auto will make you want to kill yourself. Seems to be age related. Younger generation (super low standards) seem to love it but older generation like me who were brought up to expect more hate it. Good luck after a month I'd be curious if you are still using it. I actually want to find a way with forescan to totally remove it from my life. Just knowing it is still there gives me heart palpitations.

I use Android Auto to stream Pandora, works great. Automatically connects to my phone when I get in the truck, just change the source and it's there.
