^^^This. I prefer Waze for this reason, especially the police/speed camera notifications.

One more rookie question. Will Googlemaps/Waze work with Bluetoothe, or do I need to use a USB cable. Haven't been around the truck today to try either.

i honestly tried hard to like Waze and gave it a shot for a week. Dedicated every day. Just not for me. Didn’t like the cartoonish appearance, but most importantly hated how it always kept my location on until I closed it twice. Was annoying. Google maps uses the same data for traffic which is all that matters to me. Don’t really need the police stuff or social aspect, but know lots love this part. Personal preference.

Ford currently only supports Android Auto (Google Maps/Waze) through USB.

Yes. It will read directions/prompts via Bluetooth call. You will not get a display unless it is plugged in via usb.

Edit: speaking for iPhone

That'll work, wasn't sure. I've got plenty of USB cables.
Thanks guys.

Just make sure the USB cables are high quality "data" cables or you will have all kinds of weird problems with it. Your best bet is to use the data cable that came with the phone.

Good advice, the USB that came with the phone was for charging only, AFAIK. Would the ones you're talking about be the USB-C type?

I don't think so. I don't think the USB C will fit into the USB ports in the truck unless you use an adapter. My advice is to get a good quality USB cable that specifies data transfer.
