Just joined the 21st century with a smart phone. I've got Google maps on it, is there a way to use it on my Sync 3? I thought I had Nav when I got the truck, but apparently I don't. Not that I'd use nav, just wondering.
Depending on what operating system you have on your phone. You will need to download Android Auto or Apple CarPlay app. I was the same way when I realized my truck didn't have Nav. Don't miss it at all. Works great on Sync 3 from phone.
The other thing with Android Auto is you have to plug the phone in via the USB port, you can’t Bluetooth AA.
When you have it plugged in though, Google Assistant is what you get when you hit the voice command button on your steering wheel. Big improvement over Sync IMO. Works for navigation, music, sending/receiving texts, etc.

* Edit - I’ll qualify that - my drive to work every day is 1.5 hours which is why I don’t mind it. For short trips around town - yeah I don’t often plug it in. So I get why some may not use it.
