I have it and work in a major metropolitan area. Doesn't really bother me until I'm in one of those situations where I move 5 inches, it shuts off and I have to move 5 inches again and then repeat for a mile. lol. It seems to start up quick enough for me, most times running by the time I have my foot off the brake.

I do appreciate highly the gas savings. I also knew about the feature before I purchased the truck and was prepared for it - its actually one of the reasons I went with the 2.7.

But to each their own. *shrug*

I'm genuinely curious though - and quite seriously not trying to start a war here - if all the people who hate the auto s/s do so with such a passion, why did you all get the 2.7 in the first place? If you (seemingly) don't care about the gas savings, why not just get the 3.5?

They stayed gone until I turned on the mirror heat and they then returned. Long story short, reset both modules to original and the heated mirrors worked and dtc's stayed off. Slowly added each mod back until the trouble again appeared and it seems the issue is with the "reverse tilt" mirror codes. To add the reversing mirrors I used the 2 codes for both the DDM and PDM and the problem returned. Took them back out and reset dtc's and stayed off. Any ideas and has anyone else experienced this?

On another note, are we able to pass on beer money to those that have done so much work?

Im having the same DTC come up and I've been trying to figure out if there is a way to fix this... has anyone had any luck? I don't wanna have my service guy tell me everytime I bring in my new Raptor that there is a fault for my heated mirrors.

Interesting. I would have thought you would have hated it more in a more populated area since there's more chance of stopping. There are various scenarios why it won't shut off, steering wheel angle being one of them, for instance on a right hand turn and your wheel is turned in preparation. For the one or two, or five traffic lights you stop at, the few times the truck shuts off shouldn't be that big of a deal. But anyways, not here to argue, it's just really peculiar to me.

On my truck, there was a bit of a sweet spot on the brake that you could let off the brake and the truck wouldn't shut off, but there was enough pressure you wouldn't move anywhere.

And I agree. Although, I think on the '17, start stop is a standard feature on the 3.5's now, but don't quote me.

I guess it's like Chevrolet (bad word) introducing an all fiberglass body Corvette. Haters said it wouldn't last.... That was, what, 40 years ago now?

Now that I've gotten the hang of the S/S system, it's not hard to keep it from activating. Like mentioned, light pressure on the brake, enough to hold still but not enough engage the S/S for stop/go traffic.

On that note, the Focus guys have been using a program called Focccus (apparently not related to the name of the car) and in the (plain English) list of things to modify is AUTOSTART. I've been dying to try this on my non-ecoboost '16 Titanium, but my modified ELM327 I think keeps flaking out. Members on Focus Fanatics highly recommend using a OBDLink USB, but other have reported success with the OBDLink MX Bluetooth adaptor.

Hey Guys ... new to Forscan, just ordered my adapter and will start messing around with the truck soon (I work in IT so should have some fun here!)

just a suggestion, shouldn't this topic have its own sub-forum on here ? I mean, at one point FORSCAN will span multiple generations of trucks and it wont make sense to have it under the "2015-present" sub-forum ... but most importantly, it would make it that much easier to search or discuss specific modifications... with everything being merged in this one mega-thread, its really difficult to follow certain conversations.

just my 2 cents.

Well so far there's only 1 thing that doesn't work on the 2017s that works on the 2015-2016s so everything in this discussion is still relevant. Eventually it will need what you suggested, most likely with the 2018s. The tutorial and the spreadsheets are all anyone needs to get up and running so the 700+ pages of discussion aren't necessary reading material.
