Default Ford Smartlink

Has anyone heard anything else about this and when it's gonna be available or how much it will cost?

As far as I can tell, it claims to be available now as an upgrade on 2010 thru 16s

That press release is the same time the article was written, and I have seen people say it is supposed to be out this summer (now), but I have not seen anything since then or found anyone that has actually seen it available. If it was out, I know someone here would have posted about it. You would think a cost would be out if it was coming out now.

You would think that the dealer should know, or at least get an answer. But with stuff like this, they usually don't know diddly squat and won't take the time to find out.

I have the remote start, lock/unlock app. This smartlink does this also. Someone suggested on another thread that this will replace the remote start app, which also requires a yearly subscription. The app has not been updated. Every time I use it, the Iphone pops up a box that the app is not compatible with the current version of ios, but the app still works. Used it today

I know, the dealers seem to know less than anyone! Maybe they are consolidating into one app and that is why yours hasn't been updated. Crazy to think they haven't made it compatible with current iOS when you pay for that service.

I think the plugin device will be ~$100. I think there is a free subscription for a certain period of time, then there will be a monthly service fee too.
