The phone start feature is a fluffy gimmick. I use it to impress people (At least I did the first week anyway then the thrill wore off). I don't use it at all now the fob works from like 100 feet plus away. I'm seeing very few practical reasons for the phone startup. I mean how often are you farther than the keyfob range but still want to start the car?

So one of my favorite use cases is to prevent deep sleep mode. You are going on a long trip. Your truck is going to be sitting for 4 weeks. You can set up a remote start every 1-2 weeks,let it run for 15 minutes to keep the battery charged, then it will shut off automatically. Then when you return it won't be in deep sleep mode.

Umm, isn't the same thing? Except with it rolled into your payment you have less flexibility??
