Default Ford Representative

Hello everyone! I am not new to this forum, however, this is my first post. I know there is a Ford Representative on this forum, but I cannot find a post with their information. I would like to private message them if they are still here and watching. This would be related to a differential repair at a local dealer. My truck is a 2016 Ford F-150 Lariat with the Crew Cab.

Hey there, Welcome.

They recently cancelled their involvement on this forum IIRC. You're best to get a hold of customer service directly.

Well, I guess I will try that route. Thank you for the quick reply!

You are probably better off going through corporate Ford customer service. Seems I recall many posts simply trying to connect a problem with a Dealer, like they were looking for business. I don't ever recall reading a story that they helped resolve an issue. Good luck

The issue I have is I purchased this truck in May of 2021. It is my first Ford Truck. I was previously a GM customer, but got tired of fixing rusty body panels. I went with this truck due to the aluminum body and cavernous interior. I have the 2.7l Eco-Boost Engine and it runs great. I love the truck, however, I have had to have both the front and rear differentials rebuilt twice each. All were due to failed bearings. First time for each were under extended warranty at the dealer, the other two were not, but used dealer sourced parts. I currently have 165,000 miles on it. I do not haul or tow much. I had 2001 Yukon XL 2500 with 242,000 miles on it before I need to have the front differential rebuilt, and that was due to a bad seal. Not saying GM is better, this just does not seem normal to me.

I loved my 05 Yukon XL. It's a new age we live in, current GM trucks have their issues as well. Sorry about your diff issues, as mentioned, seems like some installment issue. I've been on this forum 5 years, and can say not all Dealers are created equal, not even close. I don't think Ford corporate is going to help in any matters, I would seek a different mechanic for future repairs if you feel the repairs were less than adequate. Good luck.

Agreed. Repair/mechanic rebuild error. The first time, it happens to some. But ot have them both have to be rebuilt twice? Did you own this truck from new? Maybe someone jumped it and bent the axle housing? What else would cause the bearings to go bad? Not cleaning the axle housing completely before rebuilding.

You've got a four-year-old truck with 165K miles on it. I'm not exactly sure what you might think Ford is going to do for you, but I don't think any manufacturer would do much of anything about it at this point.
