Default First Post - Pricing post Question and comment

Well, I've been a long time lurker and this is my first post. Had a few questions/comments.

1) Why does it seem like there are a lot of people on the forum who can't get invoice pricing? I am looking to buy and the first dealer I went to offered invoice + incentives and said they would beat any offer I got. Am I just lucky?

2) Very happy to be posting with all of you. I've enjoyed reading and looking at this forum for quite some time. It's good to finally be a part of the F150 community! Thanks for having me!

It must be a regional thing....I have wondered the same thing. All the talk of X plans, yet dealers offering true invoice, plus rebates have a much better deal going.

At the macro level, a few markets are less inclined to offer MSRP discounting. It almost seems as if there's a collusive agreement among some regional dealers to hold a certain price line. But at the micro level, a reluctance to offer invoice pricing is likely due to a lack of competition in close proximity. In large multi-dealer markets, invoice pricing or below (if the buyer can negotiate waivers of, e.g. Advertising Fees, etc.), is commonplace, especially with experienced knowledgeable buyers shopping via dealer's Internet Sales websites and/or skilled at negotiation.

I'm getting mine tomorrow for almost 9k off msrp. Don't know if this applies but I think it's a good deal. Beats paying Alaska prices.

Are you in Canada?? Right now I am not seeing hardly anything more than 1-2k max off of a lariat. XLTs I'm seeing 7-9k.

No, Alaska. Buying in Dallas and driving back up. Dealership up here only gets 1 or 2 a week in and don't budge on prices
