Finally Happened
Well driving from Florida to New Orleans rock hit the window and you could just watch the crack keep climbing up the window. Stopped for now.
Just wondering how you are all handling getting an original Ford windshield replacement? Do I have to use the Ford Dealer? Or does those roving companies handle getting an OEM windshield and I would like my ford made in sticker back...
I live in Florida and it will be free or just $50. State Law...

Lucky you. I had to pay almost $400
Haven't figured out how to get a made at Dearborn sticker.
I had a rock split mine back in December. Made an appointment with apple auto glass, took the truck in to have the glass replaced, and realized they had the wrong glass ( mine has auto high beams and rain sensing wipers) they told me they would have to get the replacement glass from the dealer and would reschedule me... It's now the end of May and my windshield is still split!! Actually, i didn't pursue it, so it my fault too. It will get it replaced eventually. There is something about having them cut the glass out that grosses me out.
I got 2 cracks and two chips now.
Not replacing until law enforcement calls me on it.
That was too easy to bust this glass. I'm afraid that the very next day I get it chipped again. The highway maintenance crew spreads gravel here instead of de-icing salt...too common.

Ok I don't have lane assist and all that so no camera to cal.
I just went online to USAA and did a claim for the cracked windshield. They are sending safelite (Looked them up 4.5 stars in my area) and bringing a soundscreen with ford logo or whatever it is on it also. The only thing I guess I will need to do is get my strip of tint and find a Ford Built In sticker. I don't think that could be peeled off and reused.
BTW this is costing me nothing!!!
Heading back to Florida tomorrow if another rock wants to hit it I hope they get it out of there system now. LOL

I just had to replace mine on my Subaru WRX and my insurance (State Farm) wouldn't pay for OEM glass. All the glass shops use aftermarket glass and they swear it's exactly the same as the OEM glass. Buying OEM glass and bringing it to them would have cost me an extra $400, so I passed. I gotta say, except for the missing Subaru logo, I can't tell.
I assume this would be the same scenario for you as well.

I'll be watching this...My windshield crack started a couple weeks ago. It grows an average of an inch/day. It's about half way across the windshield going from the passenger A-pillar to a little under the mirror.
After replacing my driver's door glass a couple months ago, I'm really not wanting to get it fixed...
Oh, and I like the Logo at the top too.
