I cant see how they are not exactly the same from looking at pictures of the backside. Can anyone confirm if it really matters if the fender emblems are side specific or not?

 

Here is an example of the backside. One post is about 1/4" off under the "1". Well that post can be removed and the clips and double sided tape will do their job. Thoughts?

 

There are actually 2 different ones. I don't know if it matters which is which side, though. If you look close, the front slope of the F150 is different between left and right sides.

 

Hmm, you are correct. It really would make no difference then which emblem is on which side then. Who would ever even know......lol

 

FWIW, I found one side for $18 and the other side is $42. I would prefer to buy 2 of the ones that are $18 and care less what slope is on what side and trim off the one alignment post. I think I am going to go for it!!

 

Well we will see. I just ordered 2 of the JL3Z-16720-A STX fender emblems for mine. Not sure if they are left or right side, but for less than half the cost of the JL3Z-16720-B, I really dont care! Not a single person in the world could tell you what slope goes on what side and it really doesn't matter to me. I will post results when the are installed.

 

I know the alignment posts are different on the xlt ones. They are closer together on one side vs the other. Can't speak to the stx ones. Haven't painted any of those yet

 

Weird that you found a solo one for 42. I get pairs of them for about 36ish on ebay also

Well the clips appear to be the same. Only a blind man would need the alignment posts!
