Factory order - error
I've have very similar happen. Ordered an 01 supercrew and it came with the wrong size wheels. Dealership took good care of me and mounted the correct wheels. Speedo was off so they had to have Ford declare it a "misbuilt" unit to correct things like spedo and trans programming.
Over the life of the truck I had issues with those wheels not matching the VIN. Even replacing tires with a stock size tires shops would give me a problem due to the truck not matching the VIN. From insurance claims to tires it was a pain until the day I got rid of it 18 years later.
In hindsight, I'd either accept the truck as is and try to negotiate a discount or order another. I would not accept the condition being different than the VIN. If you do take it make absolutely certain that it is showing in Fords system as a misbuilt unit. This will matter when ordering parts by VIN.

i know the ford order system and how it feeds down to the factory all the way to the build sheets on the production line and links to the Vehicle Inspection line. There are even vision systems that detect for wrong components installed.... there is zero possibility that this the fault of the factory and entirely the fault of the dealership entering the wrong codes in the ordering system... check the DORA.... if the dealer saying its fault of the factory they are liars! like most dealerships are

I still say the person that input the order clicked on the wrong package. If something would have happened on the plant end it would would have been one piece that was wrong, not the whole puzzle.
It is your truck (the OPs) and you don't seem to care but there is no way I'd accept it and I agree with others, WTF were you thinking signing papers before looking at it?????
