Factory order - error
I'll likely leave the interior as is...as mentioned above its not worth the potential damage of having things pulled apart. Those interior pieces are pretty flat, so probably easy to wrap with better looking faux carbon anyway. My primary concern is the chrome on the exterior which is being fixed with oem parts, not just painting over the chrome. The dealer will be making notes on the vehicle file to make sure the reason for the difference is well documented in the service record. Not worried about future value, most likely it will be traded through the same dealer in a few years anyway.
I was given the option to reorder another, but I'm not upset enough to wait another 7 weeks for the sake of items that can be fixed relatively easily. Dealer wasn't playing the "oh, you signed already...too bad" card, I've bought several vehicles from them and they're great to deal with and are doing whatever they can to help. Just thought it was an interesting turn of events, sounds like it's relatively rare.

My question is, if you go to the ford database what does the VIN search return? Chrome or Sport. If it returns Chrome I wouldn't accept the truck.
You are buying brand new, you deserve to get what you ordered, not a customized version. Which is what you would have if they change to the sport appearance but VIN still says Chrome.
Conversely if the VIN shows Sport and not Chrome well then that would be different in letting them change it.
Just my $.02
I get not wanting to be a dick but after all this isn't just a steak dinner at a restaurant. We are talking about 10s of thousands in investment.

Here's my question... you signed papers on something that stickers north of $60K, or half the price of a small house. You did that... completely sight unseen? Caveat emptor.
There's no way I'd want the dealer swapping a bunch of parts to try to make it kinda right. I would have inspected the truck, said nope, that's not what I ordered, and bid them a good day.

I would not accept an ordered vehicle that is not exactly as ordered.
My first F150 was ordered and it came in with the wrong wheels and I refused it, went round and round for over an hour with the salesman and manager. Manager told me I had to accept it, I had the paperwork from the order with my signature and whomever ordered. After a somewhat heated exchange the manager said all that could be done is order another vehicle and wait another 8 to 10 weeks. I told him I have no problem waiting, he about lost it because he was hoping I wouldn’t wait. Ultimately the dealer made it right as they had another truck with the wheels that should have been on my truck, so they swapped out the wheels and I picked up my truck the next morning.
You ordered a specific truck for a reason so don’t settle for anything less, especially for the cost of a new truck. If the dealer is swapping out body parts and interior parts that is not a new truck.

So I read it like this, as evident by the OP's replies to people who are skeptical about his lack of inspection. He made a post about his special order truck being screwed up, all kinds of parts are being swapped, trim level and options no longer match the VIN, new truck having numerous parts being replaced, but hey, he doesn't care, because he will be trading it in on a few years anyway. So why make this thread?
Lots of people commenting that there’s no way they’d accept it. As long as the dealership does their part and replaces the affected components with the correct components, there’d be no issues. All of those parts are relatively simple, non-mechanical and non-technical pieces, to unbolt and replace. Yes, it’s an expensive truck, but it’s an easy solution. Have the dealer document the exchanges, so he has proof of the reason for replacement, and call it a day. It’s not like they’re swapping in a different drivetrain. I’d rather not wait another long period to get a replacement vehicle.

I spoke with my dad regarding it as he is a dealer, said they have never had it happen, he also advised to kick the truck back- you're referring to air of options that add substantial resale to a truck vs what you received.
