Default engine start and stop

Sales man tells me I have to turn this feature off at each start up .

Is this what you all are experiencing ?

I leave my motor running for 15 minutes or more in the summer to keep it kool

If you want it off, you either need to push the button every time or disable it in Forscan. Tow/Haul also disables it, as does plugging in a trailer harness simulator. The start/stop only turns the motor off at stop lights while in drive when certain conditions are met.

Does not turn off if in sport mode.

Sadly, us customers know more about the product we bought than a salesman at a ford dealership will ever know.

If your engine is cold in the winter the start-stop will generally won't work until it has warmed up. I have also noticed that if I have th A/C on it tends to not kick in.

You live in Arizona so the demand from the A/C will prevent it from going to auto stop the vast majority of the time.

It doesn't turn off if you have the defroster turned on. It will turn off cold. With A/C I haven't figured it out yet. Sometimes it will turn off and keep running the A/C and sometimes it won't. I never did determine if it's a temp thing or something else in the summer that limits it.

Personally I like the feature most of the time. Luckily for those who don't, there are lots of hacks to permanently disable it

Sorry, but I think this feature totally sucks, I can't believe I paid over $50k on a truck and I don't get the option to turn this feature off permanently? Are they kidding me? I know about the hacks, as I have the toothpick holding it in, but it failed the other day, and why in the heck do they allow me to turn it off in the options in the cluster gauges, but it reverts back on restart. So I have to hack a $50k truck? Unfriggin believable!
