Default DRL help

Good afternoon,

My 2018 f150 came with stock halogen bulbs. I recently purchased some new headlights with led accents. The high beam, low beam and side marker bulbs are all halogen. The turnsignals came with resistors but they don't seem to make a difference. No hyperflash at this time. I cannot seem to figure out how to access the drl options if I have them. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

What option are you trying to access for DRL functionality?

I've tried lighting on and off, tried only parking lights and nothing keeps them on. I'm not sure if it has its own module or not. I can't really find any part numbers for it. I also don't have an advanced section under lighting which I found weird.

Enable it in the menu
Turn headlight dial to "auto"
Put in drive (they only operate under the above conditions and when in drive).

The truck comes with DRL's enabled. A Canadian truck has no menu choice in the IPC menu. They are on any time the truck is in gear if I remember correctly. A US truck has the menu choice in the IPC to either turn the DRL on or off, that's it. As stated, in a US truck, the menu choice is on, the truck in gear and head light switch in auto and its not night time. Normally with halogen headlights, the headlight is your DRL. So, the big question, did you have DRL's before you changed the head lights?

No drl on the former headlights, maybe that's why I'm so confused on this. This truck has only ever been in the US and no drl's came with it when I bought used.

Is there a menu option for you to enable/disable DRLs in your menu on the dash board? If there is that option and it doesn’t work I don’t know how to help you. If the option is not there it is probably a Canadian truck and you can enable/disable the DRL menu option with forscan.

I'll probably have to use forescan in that case, but it's strange as the manufacturer plant seems to be in the US and it been here its whole life. Thank you for the forscan option though

ok, is there anything under Advance Setting, Vehicle then Lighting. Is there anything under Vehicle? If it’s used, how do you know it’s not a Canadian truck? They are built in the US.
