I found the same. The only 2 dealers in my state had very limited inventory and all SCrews. Time to order!

So a dealer can only order so many f150s per month?

How do you figure out if they have any allocation left? Is there a way to check with ford?

Question... If you order... dealer gives you the order sheet.. and it is in cotus. Does allocation still come into play? also shows shows clean as far as commodities are concern. ordered 1/5/15 still shows order processing with no VIN

Haha. I'm not sure what it explains but I've had the truck since it was a few months old actually, near as makes no difference. I can afford a new f150. But I'm not paying mega cab cummins pricing for a half ton. Enjoy the wait for your truck

I bought a lot of used vehicles when I was in my 20's too.
Just have to imagine how many of them can you buy without getting burned hard (it will happen it happened to me )

Then maybe this will all make some sense

I don't buy used cars unless they're certified. so no getting burned here.

I remember when I went to buy my first vehicle when I was 16 (10 years ago already....wtf....) I wanted a 1994 F-150, lifted, pipes, etc. that was for sale down the street then my dad told me one big piece of advice that I follow to this day:

"If you buy used, you're buying someone else's problem."

Or just do like me, buy 10 vehicles over 8 years from the same salesman/same dealership and already know their allocation on the vehicle(s) that you buy...
Couldn't agree more.

I've gotten 5 F-150's from my dealer/salesman including the 2015 that just showed up. My mother & father combined probably have gotten 15+ vehicles from the same dealer/salesman.

Professional relationships are very important.

My previous 4 F-1's (2004 FX4, 2007 Lariat, 2010 Lariat, 2013 XLT) were great trucks that I bought off the lot but I started to learn that there's 3-4 features that I never used that probably would total $1,500-2,000 or more. I didn't need leather seats or a a moonroof or tailgate steps.

If I can build my truck to exactly what I want, I can also control what goes and doesn't go into the truck which would control the price. Why pay $47,550 for something with a few extra features that I don't need/never use when I can get what I want for $46,275?

That's why people are still ordering. It's just not about "being the first to get the truck". There's big economical benefits. Maybe something buying used won't really teach you? I mean if you never ordered a vehicle, one really doesn't have room to talk.
