Does Sync 2 support FLAC?
I have been searching on here for a little while, read several older threads and some say Sync 2 does not support flac, (the OM does not mention flac as supported, but doesn't say it does not either), while Sync 3 seems to support flac.
Also it seems Sync 2 only supports FAT, FAT32, but not NTFS like Sync 3?
Does anybody have any definite answers?
I was messing with a SD card and USB drive late last night, I think both were NTFS, added some flac songs to see if I could hear any improvement over mp3 with all the additions/improvements I've made to the system, but it would not recognize either, so I wasn't sure if it was the flac or the ntfs, or both. Had to get up early for work this morning so wan't able to reformat to fat32 and try again just yet.
Also some notes from the SYNC3 manual:
Quote:
The system is capable of hosting nearly any digital media player, including iPod, iPhone, and most USB drives.
Supported audio formats include MP3, WMA, WAV, AAC, and FLAC.
Supported audio file extensions include MP3, WMA, WAV, M4A, M4B, AAC, and FLAC.
Supported USB file systems include: FAT, exFAT, and NTFS.

The only supported file types for SYNC with MyFord Tocuh are .mp3, .wma, .wav, and .aac. When using a USB drive for media playback, it is imperative that the USB flash drive is formatted as FAT32 and non-password protected. No other format or file type will work.
