Makes it seem like its available now? I'm picking up the truck in an hour so I guess I'll know then.
It's not draconian if that repeat offender can get them sued by Ford. The object here is to learn your lesson the first time and don't keep re-posting what has been deemed copyright infringing links.

My Free subscription to AT&T internet lasted 26 days and told me I had used 100% of 3G data. Android auto doesn't do anything other than play music and won't activate voice commands over Sync 3, just on the phone but not thru the speakers of the truck with a loud squeal when I say "Ok Google" even when being directly plugged into a USB port. It doesn't seem to be working when plugged into a USB just playing music or connecting with Bluetooth, it's kind of useless now. Do I need to have AT&T internet activated again? Why won't Android Auto work with Sync 3 just running Bluetooth?
Completely agree here there is a law against it; at least in some countries and most likely where this website physically exists.
What I wonder is why new cars come with 3.0 and older cars do not have the upgrade available yet. Is the hardware really different and they need more time to test and adapt it to older hardware? Or is it just a way to be able to say for a while that only 2018 cars have access to waze. If so how long are they going to make their own customers from just 1-2 years prior wait for what would work right now in their car?

The big difference came between sync 2(mytouch with screen in 4 squares) and sync 3(home is now in the upper left; no screen split in squares). The hardware is probably very different and the operating system is completely different. It would be like going from windows to linux or apple osx.
Now sync 3 in an edge 2016 or sync 3 in an F150 2018 should be VERY similar. Maybe one has more memory or a faster cpu; maybe not. Probably not or they would not say that waze will eventually be available on previous sync 3 models too.
I wonder how hard it will be to switch from sync app waze to carplay audio or if that is even an option. Maybe we will be stuck using bluetooth audio when going with waze because carplay won't run at the same time as sync apps.
I have spent the last 2 weeks using apple maps instead of google(I have used waze a lot in the past too). Traffic info is somewhat similar but proposed routes are often better in google and apple maps sometimes just does not seem to realize you can turn left somewhere and will tell you to go make a u-turn further down the road instead.
