Anyone tried this on a 2018 running 2.3?

Is the Flash drive formatted correctly?

 

Anyone upgrade to 3.0 who uses CarPlay? AA people are mentioning an improvement. What about us Apple fools? Any improvements there?

 

So I updated from v2.2 to 3.0 and it's obviously the 3.0 update as the splash screen changed, but it still says v2.2 in the system info. Guessing this updates after a little while on its own?

 

I just updated my 2018 Platinum last night, which was running 2.3. Took a few minutes for it to start but it eventually said "Updating System Software" at the top. About 15 minutes altogether.

Your USB drive is fine.

 

Turn off the vehicle and open the door so it turns off completely. It will load with the newer version once you start it back up.

Months ago I did the upgrade from 1.0 to 2.2 with the info from this thread. It was better except for Gracenote. I just completed the 3.0 installation this morning. Did the master reset before install, took about 15 to 20 minutes.

So far I am happy. Version 2.2 was crap if you are a music buff. Gracenote would mess up your album art, etc. So far, all my correct stuff is showing. Will try to see what else has changed over the next few days.

Used a Mac, formatted drive to EXFAT

 

Is a Master Reset necessary before updating to 3.0?

 

It is recommended, yes. However, I didn't perform one when I updated from v2.2 and didn't run into any issues.
