I don't see that this was answered yet. It does not appear to matter when you install the USB module versus the software. I installed the USB module two months ago and, getting tired of waiting for Ford, the 2.2 software from the forum 2 weeks ago. Everything went flawlessly. I can't say I love CarPlay but it works. The Sync 3 voice sounds more natural than the 1.0 version. Life is good in Fordland.

Has anyone ever had a problem with Ford as far as installation of Software or changing settings through Forscan?

Concerned about Warranty issues.

Updated the software on our 2016 and installed the new USB hub. Worked terrific!

I am thrilled to have this for my daughter so she can remain hands-free easier.

Just got my shipping notification for a blue hub from FordParts123 that I ordered on 12/25/16.

They had initially given me a backorder date of 2/10/17 so looks like stock may be picking up.

When I ordered my hub on Monday I was told Detroit had 287 pieces in stock ready to ship.

A person in another thread reported that he was able to get the dealer to admit they could now do it and provided a quote.

I confess to being a bit leery of messing with it myself on a brand new truck.

I work for a Ford dealer , I had my parts guy order a couple of the hubs , I DL the Non-Nav file link and copied to a USB drive . I could not get it to work , not sure why . im thinking the cheap USB wasnt good enough , but when i plugged it into the usb it did say device recognized but nothing happened after that
