Default Crazy Eletrical Issue

Started with a Parking Assist warning during heavy rain. Hit OK button and didn't think a thing of it. The next day (more heavy rain during the 20 hours in between), turned on fine and drove at low speeds around the neighborhood. After about 5 minutes got Parking Assist malfunction again, then started getting multiple warning lights, e-break not working, wrench symbol on the dash, drive mode selection not available. Got home and turned off the vehicles and turned it back on to attempt reset. Infotainment system kept cycling over and over, all dash lighting such as illumination for dials etc flickering constantly, headlights flashing on and off even once ignition has been turned off and key removed. Constant draw on the battery. If you remove negative connection from the battery everything stops, but as soon as you reconnect it, everything starts flashing, and ticking, and cycling even with the ignition off and key removed.

Any thoughts? By the way, I tried disconnecting the battery then disconnecting and reconnecting the three major harness plugs that go into the firewall infront of the passenger side of the truck then reconnected the battery. Everything stayed quiet. I started truck after this and it started as normal for about 15 seconds and then everything went haywire again. I turned off the ignition, all issues continued with the truck off until I disconnected the negative lead again.

My guess is a short somewhere or a loose wire? Anybody know likely areas where this might happen or have other suggestions what this might be? The fact that it happens even with the truck off makes me think it's strictly an electrical current issue and not a sensor, but I could be way off base.

Thank you

How's the battery itself? All kinds of crazy things happen at low voltages.

I have not checked it specifically but wasn't thinking it as the culprit since the truck seems to turn over without issue.

Battery is the first thing to check. If the voltage drops just a little too much during the crank cycle it often causes one or more modules to boot up too slowly resulting in all sorts of wierd electrical phenomena. You need to load test it.

Replace battery. Should always be first step to diagnose electrical problems. My battery went bad recently and my truck started just fine. I just was getting warning notices, even one for hill descent which I don't even have. New battery solved it.

Water on BCM? Bad ground connection, body to frame, outer frame under passenger front floor - connector loose, corroded or wire bad.

Get your battery load tested. If that's not it, check your bumper and side sensors to see if one or more of the connections got a bit of water in them. While you're unplugging them, put a little dielectric grease inside to keep water off the contacts.

Hello. Are you still experiencing these electrical concerns? If so, I would like to look into it on my end. Please send over a private message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer.

Might check your tail lights for water my 2015 started throwing multiple lights and codes and after a month at ford they found water in the tail lights that shorted out and caused all the problems and i am not the only one.
