Default Console Vault

Has anyone else purchased the console vault? I added it to my truck several weeks ago and love the added security it provides to items that I leave inside the vehicle. The price is reasonable and you can install it yourself in minutes.

I thought about one but the truck locks and the console locks. If they get that far they already broke through two locks. They will either break that too or they will destroy the interior trying.

The console lock is simple to break. The vault is not. They would have to be willing to spend a considerable amount of time trying to get inside the vault. Also, I like having my concealed carry locked up in a more secure manner than just a console lock.

I don't disagree with you that its far stronger.

I understand your point of view also. Obviously people have different needs. I just thought I'd see if anyone else had installed one or considered it. Thanks for your input!

I just got one, and I love it! Fairly easy install (about 30 minutes).
It's definitely the responsible thing to do if you plan on leaving your concealed weapon in the truck. I got the 4 digit code lock.

It's a Ford authorized accessory; the only thing it renders useless after install is the coin/misc item tray. The light and power outlet are still in play.

I considered it and rejected it.

Once my door lock has been bypassed, and then my console lock bypassed, a locked vault tells a thief only one thing:

There's something worth stealing inside.

If somebody is so motivated and unlawful as to break into 2 locked enclosures, a 3rd locked enclosure won't deter their resolve to get what can be taken.

Further, somebody so motivated to bust into a car ought to be armed already. I'd rather add to their gun collection than to have them trash my car and console.

This would be ideal to have when having service work done.

This is especially good for those of us having door locking issues with the cold weather. The vault would take some time to get into. Most thieves go for an easy grab. The longer they mess around in one place the more likely they are to get caught
