I reset the code on my truck and it came back on the next day. So I brought it to ford this morning. From the service manager, ''the fix is to reprogram the ecu and update the parameters for the sensor/valve then the issue should never happen again''. I laughed and said i want the valve replaced as well as the reflash update since the truck is less than a week old and has under 300 miles on it, he said ok and gave me a new truck to drive until mine is fixed tomorrow. I guess knowing the owner of the dealership helped some as well as having all of the info on the issue/problem when I showed up with the truck. Hopefully the new valve and update are a permanent fix.

Well, the valve was replaced and the ecu was updated with the new flash from ford on Saturday. 30 miles later the engine light came back on and I have a P0451 code which reads; evaporative emissions system pressure sensor/switch range pref. I'll be back to ford tomorrow to give them hell about this crap! The truck is a week old and has 333 miles on it and this will be the second trip to the service dept.

My light came on at around 3700 miles, dealer said it was evaporation block valve, dealer replaced valve, fingers crossed it won't happen again.

Add me to the list...2300 miles I get the dreaded P2450 DTC. Hoping to get it into the Dealership Monday (if service dept. open) to get it checked/fixed

Guess I'm another victim of the p2450 code. No remote start this morning but it worked last night, then noticed engine light. Used torque lite on droid to clear it, if it comes back I guess I call the dealer.

So I went just over one year after purchase (7200 miles) before I might need to take it back to dealer, I cant complain about that.

This is why I hate the government mandated evap system on today's vehicle. Eventually that system, if you keep a vehicle long enough, will have problems. Rubber gets old, cracks and any leaks in that system cause an engine light. I've had three vehicles with that issue in the last ten years.

Thanks government. All in the name of 'global warming'.

My 2.7 had this as well. My last truck - 2004 Silverado - got a similar CEL for the evap solenoid. I had it tuned and asked the tuner to remove all emission checks while they were at it. No more CEL.
