Default Changing an Order

At what point does the window shut on changes to an existing order?

I ordered in August, have a VIN, but have not received a firm production date (just a general production week). I don't want to delay production and would opt for quicker rather than changed. But, with that said, I'm thinking about changing the color of my KR.....

Stop second guessing. You pulled the trigger.

Some guys on the Mustang6G forum are saying that they have been able to change colors after they got their VIN and a couple weeks before actual production. Should be worth a try.

I changed my color and trim package after VIN and was made quicker than scheduled. It think it was quicker as they started one week sooner. It can affect production date for options but color should not hurt. Get what you want even if you have to wait.

I have been second guessing myself here and have been thinking of changing my retail order to include the king ranch chrome package. I have not received a VIN or build date yet so was hoping it's not too late.

I wanted to change from a long box to a short box and my dealer said if I do that I might wait longer as it will be another truck entirely. So in the end, both will be built. I'm not to sure about it, but I stuck to my original order

I would say change your order and get exactly what you want. A later build will always be a better truck anyway. The additional time spent waiting (if any) will always be less than the time spent with the ideal truck in your hands.

I did an early build of a 2013 Fusion when they first came out. I picked a color based on the build and price website as represented on my computer. When I actually saw the color in real life, I realized the web site representation was way off, and I had to change the order. Every time I see my original order color, I know I made the right choice to change it.
