Carwashes
Just was wondering if any of you take your aluminum body truck thru an automatic carwash like Prime Shine?
I do not mind the car wash but it's the jet blowers at the end, that make me think twice.

You guys are waaaaay more brave than I am.
My truck (as long as I own it) will NEVER see an automatic car wash. I'll spray if off at a car wash occasionally but will never use the foaming brush....
She gets washed by hand in the driveway.

I take mine through the automatic 10 minutes from my house in the winter or when it's cold enough i don't want to do it.It doesn't have the spinning rags which i prefer just high pressure water and soap. And i haven't had any problems with the jet dryer.Other wise i wash it myself at the car wash or at home in the driveway

I took mine to my local Soapy Joes location, been very happy with it over the years, use to hand wash all my cars in the past, but then I got lazy.
I like the fact I do the final wipe down and vacuum at the end, because I do it better than most car wash guys.
That being said, watching your hood get wavy during the jet dry is not for the faint of heart.
But its been that way for my trucks since my 2000 F150, which also had an aluminum hood.
In terms of strength, I've noticed my truck seems to be more dent resistant than my past steel bodied F150s. Not worried about the car wash denting the body. At least not any more so than my old trucks.

You guys don't give the aluminum quite enough credit. Ask a Jeep JK Wrangler owner about the sheet metal and they'll warn you not to lean against the body panels and fart. It is seriously flimsy! The aluminum body on these trucks is pretty durable and thicker than traditional steel on most every other vehicle.
I only take mine through the touchless wash in the winter to keep the salt at bay. No issues.
In summer it gets hand washed.
