Default Cannot Find Oil Filter!

This is a serious post.. I have had my truck jacked up for half an hour looking for the filter.

I mean.. I'm new to trucks in general, and am by no means mechanically inclined. But holy *****, you'd think I could at least FIND the damn oil filter.

Anyone else have issues with this? Can you help me out? YouTube and Google haven't helped much.

Per my sig it's a 2018 Stx 2.7 Ecoboost.

Look on top of motor. It's that black composite thing front center with a large hex head for a wrench.

Do not feel bad. Said the same thing when I started to change my oil in my 3.0 diesel looking for the drain plug. I had to remove a cover underneath and there it was.

Owner's manual? Would've taken you 3 mins to find via the owner's manual. Really.

"Manual? What is this manual that you speak of? I spent $40,000 - $70,000 on a vehicle months ago, likely changing my oil before I need to, and you want me to read a manual"?

Who said Ford are the experts on Ford maintenance; just because they engineered and built it doesn't mean they know more than me.....now where is the oil filter?

Go here and you can download your owners manual by vehicle in a PDF format. https://owner.ford.com/tools/account...rd&model=F-150

One thing you will find that when you search for Oil Filter in the owners manual, it will tell you what type of filter you need, but nowhere does it state where it is located.

I think some of the posters didn't read the post correctly, or maybe I didn't. You were wanting to know where the oil filter was located on your truck, not the type to go buy one correct? If so then the people telling you to look in the owners manual wouldn't have been able to find it either (at least on the online PDF version). It shows locations of some items of the truck, but not where the oil filter is located.
