Default Bed Extender Options

On my 08, I had a flip-style bed extender. Really got a lot of use from it. Looking to get one for my 2019 SCREW. I see there are the old flip style, and the two-piece that tucks away in the sides of the bed. OEM and aftermarket options. My truck has the factory drop-in liner. What are my options? Am I better off ditching the drop-in and going with a spray-in liner? Please give me my options and recommendations. Thanks!

What are planning on hauling? What about one of the after market items that hook into your receiver (Erickson Big Bed Senior Bed Extender 400 lb.) for example

I can't really say I have plans to haul anything specific. I just liked the versatility it offered if the occasion arrived.

I started with the factory Ford piece and liked it. However, with the 5.5’ bed, once I hauled a couple of cycles I wanted something else. I ended up with the Amp Research unit as well, which gave me more room for tire clearance.

OEM works with drop in bedliner, FWIW. Again, as stated above, it really matters how you are going to use the area. I use mine primarily as a bed divider, but when picking up bagged fertilizer, mulch, and similar landscaping needs, this comes in very handy as an extender and I like how it folds into place along the bed walls when not in use. I transplanted this from my 2012 to my 2013 to my 2018. No idea what other solutions cost. It should be noted that these OEM units are not inexpensive. Hope this helps.

With my 08, 90% of the time it served as a bed divider. I like the tuck-away style of the OEM. The fact that it will work with my drop-in liner makes it even more attractive. Thanks for your input.

Another vote for the Ford factory bed extender. I've got one in my 5.5' 2020 and the ability to fold it away to the sides when I load bigger items is VERY useful.

Like many people, I use it as a divider much more often than an extender.
