Default BCM replacement

Had a previous issue of my power points not working, a larger problem just showed itself after a major rainstorm in which a small amount of water followed down the harness to the BCM. So likely the cause of the power points not working and the new issues.
Got to work yesterday and truck was acting strange. Honking horn randomly, hazards coming on, headlights strobing.
That is when I found the water on the BCM, unplugged everything from it and took it out.
Had a small amount of corrosion on a couple pins, opened everything up and found a corner of the mainboard had a component that looks to have gotten grounded out by water.

Ordered a replacement BCM that should be here in a couple days, but just realized that the keys are tied to the BCM. Am I able to program my keys to the new BCM myself?

Not sure but I've had baaaaaad luck doing anything with the BCM in forscan. My advice if you must do it yourself is buy a 2 day FJDS license if you have a J2534 cable or equivalent.

So I am at a stage where everything appears to be correct, except for a no start due to a p161a error which is an immobilizer error.
keys work to unlock doors, data has all been put back, modules reset and relearned.

If using FJDS is the answer, i am all for it, i just dont want to pay for it if it wont get me what i need, heh.

You will need FJDS and a compatible J2534 VCI. In FJDS you need to perform the PMI function in the module programming section. Have the old one plugged in, read the data, then plug in the new one to program it (follow all the prompts EXACTLY). You will not be able to perform any security function on any 2015 or newer F150's without a NASTF license (you must be a business and go through background checks, have proper insurance, and pay lots of money).

After the BCM is programmed you must perform the security function...
- parameter reset
- program 2 keys - NEEDS 2 KEYS
- CEI Configuration
- reset door code (if applicable)

2015+ F150 - USED BCM WILL NOT WORK...unless you clone the eeprom.

FJDS works best on a windows 10 pro device.

Ya, just going to talk to the dealer tomorrow and have them do the programming quick. Forscan allowed everything besides the parameter reset to get the pcm and bcm happy

You need to perform a parameter reset. DTC Description ActionP161A Incorrect Response from Immobilizer Control Module The BCM ID received by the PCM does not match the ID stored in the PCM memory. CARRY OUT the parameter reset procedure. REFER to: Anti-Theft Key Programming - Scan Tool (419-01B Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS), General Procedures) .

You may be able to find a good automotive Locksmith with the tools to do it. Usually Autel, Xtool, or Smartpro can do it.

Had the dealer finish the programming.
Now I just need to work on the water leak, will tear into that this weekend and seal up all the seams that appear to cause the trouble for most people.

Found my water leak to be around the windshield, which my dealer apparently could not find previously when I had them searching for leaks.....
10 minutes with a can of glass cleaner and an air nozzle and I found leaks on both sides of the windshield.

Got windshield replaced today, he could see 2 areas where it hadnt sealed properly. promised me it was sealed now, so we shall see.

Did you replace the whole windshield or just have it removed and resealed?

What was the cost????
